What is Chanca Piedra?
Chanca Piedra (Phyllanthus niruri) is a small tropical herb native to the Amazon rainforest and other regions of South America. Its name translates to "Stone Breaker," reflecting centuries of traditional use by indigenous communities. The whole aerial plant has long been prepared as a traditional herbal remedy to support the body's natural cleansing processes.
Traditional Uses
For generations, Chanca Piedra has been used in traditional South American herbal medicine to support the kidneys, liver, urinary system and healthy digestion. Today it remains one of the Amazon's most respected medicinal plants and continues to be studied for its naturally occurring plant compounds.
