These beautiful ceremonial shirts are individually hand-painted by Shipibo-Konibo artisans in the Peruvian Amazon using the traditional Kené designs for which the Shipibo people are renowned. Every shirt is painted entirely by hand, making each one completely unique.

The flowing geometric patterns of Kené are one of the most recognisable artistic traditions of the Amazon. Inspired by nature, medicinal plants, rivers and visionary experience, these intricate designs have been passed down through generations and remain an important part of Shipibo culture today.

Each shirt is painted by hand using traditional methods rather than printed by machine. The time, care and skill involved mean no two garments are ever exactly alike. Small variations in the artwork are a natural part of the process and reflect the authenticity of genuine handmade craftsmanship.
