These beautiful ceremonial trousers are individually hand-painted by Shipibo-Konibo artisans in the Peruvian Amazon using the traditional Kené designs for which the Shipibo people are renowned. Every pair is painted entirely by hand, making each one completely unique.

The flowing geometric patterns of Kené are one of the most recognisable artistic traditions of the Amazon. Inspired by nature, medicinal plants, rivers and visionary experience, these intricate designs have been passed down through generations and remain an important part of Shipibo culture today.

Each pair is painted using traditional methods rather than printed by machine. Because every garment is made by hand, slight variations in the artwork are to be expected and are part of what makes each piece special.

The trousers feature a comfortable adjustable drawstring waistband, allowing them to fit a wide range of waist sizes while providing a secure and comfortable fit.
