Shipibo Hand-Embroidered Ceremonial Trousers
Authentic Shipibo-Konibo Artisan Clothing from the Peruvian Amazon
These beautiful ceremonial trousers are handcrafted by Shipibo-Konibo artisans in the Peruvian Amazon and feature traditional hand-embroidered Kené designs. Every pair is individually embroidered by hand, making each one completely unique.
Kené is the sacred geometric artwork of the Shipibo people, inspired by nature, medicinal plants, rivers and visionary experience. Passed down through generations, these intricate patterns are one of the most recognisable artistic traditions of the Amazon and continue to play an important role in Shipibo culture today.
Each garment is embroidered entirely by hand using traditional techniques rather than machine production. The time, care and skill involved mean no two pairs are ever exactly alike. Small variations in the embroidery are a natural part of the process and reflect the authenticity of genuine handmade craftsmanship.
The trousers feature a comfortable adjustable drawstring waistband, allowing them to fit a wide range of waist sizes. Their relaxed fit makes them suitable for both men and women, offering comfort whether worn for ceremony, meditation, retreats, festivals or everyday wear.
We source our Shipibo textiles directly from artisans in the Peruvian Amazon, bringing authentic handmade pieces directly from the communities that create them.
A beautiful piece of traditional Amazonian craftsmanship, made to be worn and appreciated for years to come.
